1B Les Plats au café
After students have had lots of comprehensible input...
B. Objectives & Euros
Briefly, but enthusiastically, introduce the unit objectives and the assessment. You may wish to copy the play Euros onto colored paper and distribute them during the unit for correct responses and participation. Students can then use these Euros to purchase real food at the café experience.
C. GUess What Food I am Drawing
Students play a game similar to Pictionary. They work in pairs to draw representations of the café food. Their partner tries to identify the food in French. You may wish to give the students a few expressions to help them maintain the conversation in French. They should do this activity for no more than two minutes at a time. Project the reaction words to encourage students to stay in the target language.
D. Label the Food Cards
Students use the vocabulary list to label their food vocabulary cards.
